Censorship again--URGENT Senate update!!!!
Bishop is having the sergeants tell media not to film or photograph immediate effect votes in the Senate.
IE votes-tough votes- are not record roll call, so they are not printed in the Senate Journal, the official record of what happened. Film/photos may be only record of who voted for what.
Our rules, the only laws/rules that govern the activity of the Senate, say nothing about media not being allowed to film whatever they want
Censorship again?
After Republicans and out-of-state interference mongers (Like Ward Connerly did with Prop 2)pledged to begin RECALL proceedings on Legislators who vote for a tax increase; suddenly Bishop finds himself between a rock and a hard place! Bishop knows that he and other Republicans need to vote for tax increases in order to keep good on their deals to the insurance lobbyists (I am referring to the Mark Jansen MESSA reform deal) oh yeah... and to help the state avoid a real shut-down. But as Democratic Edge has reported in the past, poor Mikey has that pesky pledge to Grover Norquist hanging over his head. What is a slimy, backstabbing, incompetent Legislator to do... Oh yeah, HIDE THE EVIDENCE! (As taught by Karl Rove). |
