McCain regional HQ rents space in foreclosure attorney-owned building

by: Eric B.

Tue Jul 15, 2008 at 13:21:04 PM EDT

A little detail was left out of yesterday's opening of McCain's Great Lakes regional headquarters in Farmington Hills ... the people the space is being rented from.

Where: 31440 Northwestern Hwy
Suite 100
Farmington Hills, MI 48344

Guess who's right above?

These guys:

31440 Northwestern Highway, Suite 200

That's Trott & Trott, a legal practice that specializes in, well...

As one of the largest firms in the nation conducting residential default procedures, we represent mortgage bankers, as well as banks, credit unions, mortgage servicers, regional property owners, investor groups, and individual entrepreneurs.

Above all, Trott & Trott is a business-minded law firm. We strongly believe that the highest level of legal services, and adherence to professional ethics, is never incompatible with responsiveness to our clients¹ real-world business needs. Our attorneys are readily accessible and motivated to complete each transaction quickly and efficiently. To this end, Trott & Trott has developed some of the most comprehensive, computer-guided mortgage tracking, and foreclosure processing systems in use today.

You can find their evidence of their handiwork here and here.  As attornies representing bankers and mortgage holders in foreclosure transactions, you might wonder just who gets their money when it becomes Election Year.  Well, we can clear that up.  $4,600 for Mitt Romney.  Also, money for the "job-killing" SBT tax repeal (so powerful a job killer that it's kept on killing jobs even after it was gotten rid of).

Anyway, from Crain's Detroit Business, October 2006.

Law firm Trott & Trott P.C. announced details of its upcoming move to the former Compuware Corp. headquarters in Farmington Hills.

Last month, Trott & Trott purchased the former headquarters with partner Redico L.L.C. Trott & Trott is the majority owner. Redico will provide space planning, construction services and building management. Bingham Farms-based Scarcello Associates Inc. is consulting on interior design and space planning.

The law firm and affiliated companies plan to take about 165,000 square feet of the 185,000- square-foot building, moving 650 employees in during late spring or early summer 2007. The remaining 20,000 square feet is available for lease, and the building at 31440 Northwestern Highway will get a new name.

And, it did get a new name.  It went from being called the Compuware Building to Brookfield Office Park II.  And, as we now know, some of the space in Brookfield Office Park II, owned in the majority by an legal firm that specializes in helping mortgage holders boot people from their homes, is also home to a new rent-paying tenant, the Great Lakes Regional Headquarters for John McCain's presidential campaign.
